Project Linus Day at Shirley Cadet Centre
A special photoshoot for the Project Linus Day in Solihull. Over 40 quilts tops were made during the day. The completed quilts are given to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for children during their cancer treatments, teenagers in the Birmingham Children's Hospital department for DBT (a type of behavioural therapy) - they are given a quilt to keep which they keep as a reminder of the success of completing the course and as affirmation of their progress, a bereaved children's charity, Birmingham Women's refuge and various other worthwhile causes. It was wonderful to meet some of the people who work at various hospitals and charities who told us how valued these quilts are. Project Linus touches so many people in such a positive way when they are going through difficult times. They know that other people care enough to make them a quilt. A big thank you to Joy from Pastures New Quilting who is the co-ordinator for the West Midlands and a wonderful quilting teacher who gives up so much time to work on Project Linus.
